This weekend was amazing, having the opportunity to help coach and work with all the athletes was truly a pleasure and an honor. We had six athletes compete in the Front Range Functional Fitness Master’s competition and it was inspirational to say the least. It always seems that no matter what the competition or the event, we as Functional Fitnessters and as coaches are always reminded about why we love this thing we call Functional Fitness. The enviornment and community over the last two days was inspiring and exhilarating, and we were so happy to have the chance to be a part of it. As a Functional Fitnesster watching athletes of all ages and ability levels lay everything on the line and give everything they had in each WOD was amazing. It was definitely is a huge reminder why the Functional Fitness community is such any amazing thing to be a part of. As a coaches I know both Court and I couldn’t be more proud of everyone who participated this weekend. Nikki, Susan, Shannon, Joe, Jamie, and Jason all hit new PR’s and pushed themselves to limits I don’t think they even knew they had. Each of them gave everything they had in each WOD, and as a coach that’s all we can ask. I’m sure this was a learning experience for the majority of the athletes but it’s a learning experience that will only make all of us better. Court and I are so thankful and proud to have each of you represent our gym and family the way did this weekend. We have so much pride in being able to say that you all are a part of our amazing family. We also want to thank Micheal Beat who volunteered and helped out this weekend, along with as always Aaron Hastings. Aaron you donate so much time to not only our gym but this community as well, you’re truly one of the best judges around and we can’t thank you enough for all that you do. In addition once again I’m pretty sure our Surge family represented and had the biggest crowd cheering and showing their support. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the event, we are so blessed and lucky to have all of you as part of our family. Functional Fitness has taught us a new definition of community, family, love and pride!
